Spring 2015 12U Eagles

Spring 2015 12U Eagles

In August 2015, the 12U Eagles Baseball Association team will have the privilege and honor of playing at Cooperstown Dreams Park in historic Cooperstown NY.

The Dreams Park experience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that these players will never forget. Nestled in the hills surrounding the village of Cooperstown, teams spend a week immersed in the great game of baseball. At least two current MLB players – David Price and Matt Garza – have participated in a week of baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park as a child.

With your help we can raise funds so our youth boys (and girl) can enjoy this unique opportunity and create incredible memories for themselves and their families.

Eagles Spotlight On – Eagles Winter Training Programs

You know you’re serious about baseball when the calendar hits December…and you start training for the following spring.

Eagles Baseball 2014 Winter TrainingProfessional Baseball Instruction‘s Winter Training Programs have started with an emphasis on getting Eagles Baseball players ready for spring 2015.

Our “spring training” approach starts allows players to gradually improve their skills over the course of the winter months using proven training methods designed by PBI’s Major League Advisors such as Clint Hurdle, Leo Mazzone, and Sam Perlozzo.

Eagles Baseball 2014 Winter Training

The Junior Winter Training Program is the signature off-season training program for 11 and 12-year old Eagles players on the 50/70 field, keying extensively on the fundamental skills needed for the more advanced 50/70 game.

The Senior Winter Training Program is for 13 and 14-year old Eagles players on the 60/90 field with an emphasis on getting players prepared for playing in high school.

Eagles Baseball 2014 Winter TrainingBoth programs prepare you for your upcoming season just as the pros do through our “spring training” approach over the course of 3 months – sixteen 2 ¼-hour workout sessions. That’s 36 total hours of preparation for your upcoming season.

The Junior and Senior Winter Training Programs each begin with stretching and form running and continue through a series of position-specific drills for pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders. Every player hits, too.

Professional Baseball Instruction’s Junior and Senior Winter Training Programs are the official off-season training regimens of Eagles Baseball teams. For more information, call Professional Baseball Instruction TOLL-FREE at 800-282-4638.

Eagles Spotlight On – Andrew Meisner

14U Eagles pitcher Andrew Meisner

14U Eagles pitcher Andrew Meisner

14U Eagles player Andrew Meisner finished up his 2014 fall season with a flourish. One of the team’s top pitchers the previous three seasons, Andrew settled into a very strong groove down the stretch as the Eagles secured the #2 seed in the 2014 fall season of the PBI Baseball League.

In his last three appearances, Andrew tossed 15 innings allowing just two runs. The highlight was a 4-0 shutout against a tough Rutherford Dawgs team on the final day of the regular season. He held the Dawgs to just four hits while striking out eight and walking only one.

In the championship game against the Northern Valley Coyotes, Andrew threw four shutout innings.

His bat was strong too, with eight hits in his final ten at bats over the regular season and playoffs.

Eagles Spotlight On – Dylan Santos

Santos pic10U Eagles shortstop Dylan Santos, who’s been shining on defense already this fall, has made his presence known with his bat, too.

On Sunday October 5th against Teaneck, Dylan slammed his first career over-the-fence home run in the bottom half of the first inning with one out and a runner on second to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. He ended the day (doubleheader) going 4-6 with the home run, 3 singles and 4 runs batted in. He also had a pair of walks and a three stolen bases.

All in all, a very nice afternoon for Dylan!

Eagles Spotlight On – 10U Eagles

10U-1The Eagles welcomed eleven brand new players to the program this fall with the re-introduction of a 10U team. Under the direction of head coach Wayne Richardson, the team kicked off its inaugural season with an exciting 10-5 win over the Nanuet Knights on Opening Day.

The victory was highlighted by four scoreless innings thrown by Motomu Sasho while shortstop Dylan Santos anchored the defense at short stop with a couple of tremendous plays, as did Michael Staino at first base. The team also did an exceptional job running the bases right out of the gate.

10U-2Mason Cohen and Marc Marron each had a pair of hits and Michel Kronick contributed two RBI’s to help put the Eagles in the win column in their debut.

Eagles Spotlight On – Ryan Remo

With Ryan Remo’s Dad Jeff being one of the first employees hired when Doug Cinnella started Professional Baseball Instruction in 1993, it’s no surprise that Ryan would literally grow up around the game of baseball.

Ryan is currently playing on the Eagles 17U scout team for coach Steve Hayward after putting up some rather astonishing numbers as a junior this past spring for Mahwah High School – in 2014 he earned 10 wins, striking out 40 and walking only 11 with a 1.79 earned run average in 62.1 innings.

His performance on the mound has attracted the attention of a number of colleges including Columbia and Fordham.

A two-sport athlete at Mahwah, Ryan is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Thunderbirds this fall.

Eagles Spotlight On – Danny McNally

14U Eagles pitcher Danny McNallyA relative new-comer to the Eagles program, Danny McNally has emerged this spring as one of the dominant pitchers for the 14U Eagles Red team. In six starts so far this spring, Danny has complied a record of 5-1 with an additional win and save out of the bullpen. He’s thrown a team-leading 3 complete games.

Danny has been taking lessons with Doug Cinnella and Steve Hayward at Professional Baseball Instruction for a number of years and had previously participated with the Eagles as a tournament player on the 12U and 13U levels. He joined the Eagles on a full-time basis for the spring 2014 season.

Currently in 8th grade in Warwick NY, Danny will be attending St. Joseph’s Regional High School this fall.
